“Our financial system has drastically changed over the last 50 years. Most people get their financial education from their parents, but what worked previously doesn’t work today. In the modern financial system everything is virtual. Many people struggle to be financially sound and that is impacting productivity at work and physical and emotional health at home. I’m driven to help companies see the value in elevating their workforce through sound financial education.”

In 2007 Megan Graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Accounting with minors in Biology and Chemistry. While at Westminster she participated in two research projects which were eventually published in science journals. Megan initially intended to go to Medical School but was encouraged by her Grandparents who generously funded her education to take business classes. One accounting professor challenged her to spend one year in the finance industry before applying to medical school.

One year was all it took and Megan was hooked. She began her career at Fidelity Investments where she worked with the University of California’s retirement plan, Baylor Medical School’s retirement, and the University of Utah’s retirement plan. At fidelity all client interactions were done over the phone. Although over the phone communication allowed her to meet with a lot of clients in one day she didn’t feel she could provide accurate advice.

After being with Fidelity, Megan was recruited by AXA Advisors. She was excited as the company promised she would be allowed to meet with clients one on one. However, at Fidelity she had learned the industry and particularly products, although she liked the service model she did not like the product line up at AXA.

In 2009, Megan was able to go on her own and start her own practice. Initially she was with a conglomerate called Black Ridge Financial Group. Still believing that she had more to offer to her clients in 2015 she established and built Granite Canyon Wealth.

In 2017 Megan had the opportunity to join with her mentor Brad Myers. For years prior Myers and Palazzo would talk about the industry and the unethical behavior they saw and the fiduciary responsibility they both felt. Coming together has given them both the opportunity to really impact the industry in a positive way.
